How to Hang Murals
Surface Preparation
Before hanging murals, make sure the wall is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove old wallpaper/mural, fill any cracks, and prime the surface.
Tools and Materials Needed
- Mural
- Wallpaper paste
- Roller or brush for applying paste
- Spatula / smoothing tool
- Level
- Scissors or utility knife
- Sponge and bucket of water
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Apply paste directly to the wall.
- Position the strip on the wall, starting from a corner or doorframe, and align it with a level.
- Smooth the mural with a spatula or brush from the center outward, removing air bubbles.
- Trim the excess at the ceiling and baseboard with a utility knife.
- Wipe off paste from the mural surface with a damp sponge.
Tips
Make sure to match the pattern between strips. Avoid drafts while the mural is drying. Start from a light source so that seams are less visible.
